Hello–I am having some trouble with Views. It works perfectly in my development environment but breaks whenever I try activating it on my live site (Types works just fine).
I have a bunch of custom post types. Two of them I set up Views for the archive loops. When Views is activated and I try to load either of these pages it results in the 500 internal server error message (see below). Further, it breaks my blog page…It seems like the coding for Views and Types and my base theme are very similar so I don't know if that's related to why it affects that page as well (a VamTam theme).
ERROR MESSAGE: The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.
I have tried increasing the php memory but my hosting provider limits this at 64M so that didn't really help. I have debugging activated but I cant get the php debug txt file to load anything. I tried adjusting the permissions as well as adjusting the code in my config file and output it in a different folder where my debug.log file writes. Nothing.
I can send you the normal wordpress php debug log which I have, if that makes sense?
At the moment, I clearly don't have Views activated, so obviously you won't be able to reproduce the problem on my site. I don't really know how to best go about that…? I can activate it for a few minutes or something…but they are main pages so I can't rationalize much more than that. Though I worry that attempts to reproduce on another server might not mirror the actual problem.
Any help is MUCH appreciated, I've been trying to figure this out on and off for months.
