I'm halfway. After some trial and error, I was able to get the output to display the proper size. I had to delete the images and upload them the exact size I wanted them. It will display them the full size that they are.
I'm still having trouble with the second half. I did add a link to an image and the html as you wrote it but nothing. In fact, the weird part is it doesn't have a link at all now, not even back to the image. So it's no longer clickable. Here is the site: http://wordpress.sctylib.org.
Let me know if you have any suggestions or think I went wrong at some point.
