Hi….I set up sme views for custom post types with sort field by city ascending and utilizing a preset view template. I then added filter and pagination.
1. The filter allows for further sorting by city (this is useful because some of the views are statewide with 1200 plus custom posts).
2. I set pagination to display drop down number box and next/previous. I am displaying three records per paginated page….updating view using ajax.
When I set the filter view type to select I can pull up, for example, nine records. This requires 3 pages in the paginated view (1-3).
I am using "Update the View results every time an input changes". Everything works great, and the user can go through the three pages of results for the city they have selected.
—->Here's the issue….I thought it would be a lot slicker to set the filter view type to textbox, and allow the user to enter a city name.
When the filter is set like this it pulls up the 9 records just fine,
BUT, when I go to select page 2 or 3 of the paginated records, the view resets to all records, and I cannot see any of the page 2 or 3 results because the view has reset to view all records.
I tried changing the parametric setting to "Update the View results only when submitting the form" but this does not make a difference.
What I see happening is that the ajax pagination refresh resets the view type textfield.
When I use the view type select feature the city remains in the field so the results can be viewed through all three pages of ajax pagination.
Is there a way to resolve this issue? I have to say, it sure makes for a slick presentation when I can use the textfield.

How can I change the name of the top item of the select? I am displaying an wpcf-custom field "City", and "City" comes up as the first item on the select list…as I am displaying the select list in alpha ascending this is most irritating
….why can't I hide this item or rename it to something like "Select City" and then apply css to it to make it larger or bold…and also display on the frontend in the selector box as the default?
