Thanks for your feedback. Anyway if you download Views Woocommerce website example using our Views demo plugin. You can go to /wp-content/views_base_commerce/woocommerce/ and there you will see our single-product.php that overrides the Woocommerce template.
For third-party/custom theme implementation with WooCommerce, I suggest to check out this tutorial: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/third-party-custom-theme-compatibility/
It requires duplicating your page.php and renaming to woocommerce.php. Try it to see if it works. Thanks.
