Switched to using http://turzynski-cpw.discover-wp.com Trying to create Custom Type called Product Structure with 3 custom fields (parentid, childid, quantityper). The parentid and childid are both located in the Products Type. I know custom code must be written to validate the Product Structure fields parentid and childid. The Product Structure fields are a group and are repeating fields. However, in the administrator page the fields show in a column. This is a simple form of a Bill of Material. APS ASSEMBLY is made up of C1 and C2. Another assembly called A is made up of C1, C2, C3. What I am trying to replicate is the Product Variations and Composite Concept plugin so I can expand the selection process.
The documentation I find to be very poor. Others have tried to resolve this, and there does not seem to be an example on creating this relationship concept that works. I bought the tools expecting to maintain the relationships as single level Bills of Material and adding the explosion logic to construct various selection product configuration that will be used to define the end product.

In summary there are 9 sizes, 4 finishes, 2 knockout, 1 outlet color variation with 3 colors and 1 with 2 colors = 432 possibilities in this one product. It will require 13 single level bills of material to define it.
