Bootstrap header 100 width

Hello,
I'm using Bootstrap and would like to know what's the best way to have a 100% width header with this theme.
I noticed that there is a "container" ID which is 1170px width and don't know how to disconnect the header from this container. In the same time, I want the rest of the theme (main ID) to stay with the standard width and keep all other responsive features.
