This is very strange but …
1. I regenerated (save for web on photoshop) one of the images and reuploaded it <– worked
2. I regenerated two more images and reuploaded <– didn't work for these two images
3. Regenerated the same two images in the same way, renamed them (added _v2 to the end of their filenames) <– worked!
Thoughts:
- When I originally uploaded these jpegs something went wrong … maybe it's the EXIF data (saw this in another thread on wp-types) but on my hard drive the EXIF looks identical so my theory is:
- When I originally uploaded the images last week, something went wrong with the upload … maybe the EXIF got mangled … when I tried reuploading with the same file name it didn't work because WP detects it's the same image i'm uploading again. When I change the filename, WordPress is forced to upload a fresh copy of the file … EXIF intact this time and it's fine?
