I have a shortcode that adds some custom inputs to a CRED form. These inputs aren't managed by CRED, so it doesn't check whether they are valid or not. I tried to hook into the 'cred_form_validate' filter, but I guess it doesn't recognize the errors for fields that aren't managed by it. Is there another way that I can validate the custom inputs, in such a manner that the form will not be submitted if there are errors? And I would like to give an error message too, of course.
The reason that the fields can't be managed by CRED is that they are part of a taxonomy that has some special characteristics.
