Types php API – need serious help.

FYI. I have the Views plugin as well so don't need to upsell me to that

I've been using Views, but I'm reaching a stage where I see limitations of Views (e.g. Shortcode within Shortcode), that I think I have to go back and use Types API. However I've read the instructions of ur pages. I understand the functions. But I actually dunno where to put them. Do you have a full example of how to use it?
