the release candidate I've sent you is for the Types and Gravity Form conflict. The initial issue for this thread.
About the CRED message of 'This field is required'. By default when creating content with CRED it will require the post title to be specified.
Can you post here a link to a page were your using the CRED form and this message appears. So I can identify the problem.
